CRUISE PROGRAM
PADANG BAY
 |
On an island east
of Java, the gods created a story-book setting of
sun-drenched beaches, rolling surf and fertile plains.
Upon it, they set a graceful people to whom religion
is an inseparable part of everyday life.
Lovely young girls in hand painted-brocades perform
ritual dances to ancient gamelan music. With almost
10,000 temples, there is a religious celebration
somewhere on the island virtually every day. |
| To honor the gods,
the Balinese create beautiful stone and wood carvings,
finely woven cloth, intricate paintings, and exquisite
gold and silver jewelry. They tend their rice fields
on the green, terraced hillsides which, like everything
on Bali, are works of arts in themselves. |
 |
From the days of the early traders, Bali has been known
as an enchanted place. Whether you come to sun, to shop
or to see the many exotic sights, you'll soon full under
the island's spell.
